It’s Time to Make a Difference…
Families all around us are dealing special needs children.  Our school systems have been addressing the changing needs of students, but the Church has been slow to respond.  It’s time for Grandin Court Baptist to start making a difference in the lives of our kids who are dealing with Autism, Asperger’s, ADHD, and other developmental or health needs.  We can make a place for these families to worship and be included.  It will take a lot of us working together, but WE CAN DO IT!!We will begin with education and discussion in the next few weeks.  Please respond on the form below if you are willing to be part of the process.  Thanks!

SEND16 – SPRING SPORTS BLESSINGS
On Sunday, April 17, we want to commission all athletes, coaches, officials, league organizers, parents and grandparents who are involved in Spring sports.  We all know that sports are an important part of our lives and that Jesus is with us wherever we go.  As part of our SEND16 emphasis, we want to recognize that anyone who is out there on the fields is as much a missionary as someone overseas!  We want to bless you and commission you to be the Presence of Christ on the field, in the bleachers, or in a lawn chair watching practice.  We’ll commission everyone at the end of both worship services.

AUGUST SLOW DOWN & PROJECT TIME
Our Summers are full of so many meaningful activities:
 Vacations
Mission Trips
Camps
Visiting Family
Family Sabbath School
Swimming in Your Favorite Bodies of Water
Hiking Your Favorite Trails
We are on the go all Summer long!  August is a great time to catch our breath before school starts again.  This year, we would like to slow down and encourage some Sabbath time.  We won’t have any regular children’s activities between August 1-20 besides Sunday School and Worship.  We’re not doing this because we don’t want to see you!  We will still throw out some different options for getting together with church family & friends like meeting at Red Sox game or a playground.  We’ll share meet-ups on Facebook and by text.We also would like to schedule some unstructured time so we can get to alot of those PROJECTS that we never get to.  During the first three weeks of August, we would like to tackle several things that would help make our church more guest-friendly and inviting.  These are ways you can help out and still be involved at church during this down time.  Some of the projects we would like to do include:

Painting the Nursery Area
Painting the Children’s SS Area
Putting Up New Directional Signage Inside the Church
Setting Up a Sensory Room for Special Needs Children
Creating or Collecting Sensory Aids
Creating a Prayer Room
Renovating the Chapel
If you would be willing and able to help with any of these projects.  Please let Pastor Brian know by responding on the form below:
Kindergarten
If your child is entering Kindergarten this Fall, sign them up to get prepared for worship! Pastor Brian will teach a weekly worship class for Kindergarteners during the usual Extended Session time on August 7, 14, and 21.  Each week, we work on worship bags that the kids can use to bring their Bibles and other supplies with them to worship.  After the children finish the class,  they will be presented a Bible and their worship bag in the AUGUST 28, 11:00am Worship Service.  Your Kindergartener should begin staying in the service and no longer attend Extended Session on this Sunday, August 28.
