Grandin Court Baptist Church is a Missional/Incarnational church. Missions are a part of who we are, not just the things we do. We are always finding ways of doing ministry through the development of our congregation’s gifts to be used in such a way that puts their faith into the leadership role of their everyday lives.

Some of the ways Grandin Court serves Roanoke is through participation with Congregations in Action which provides tutors, lunch buddies, and pack-a-snack for local elementary school children; volunteering and donating at the the Rescue Mission; hosting Family Promise which provides assistance to families experiencing homelessness on their way to being independent; participating in Community Renovation Day, and more. Grandin Court also serves our worldwide community through partnering with More than Nets providing nets to protect people from disease bearing mosquitoes; working with India Baptist Theological Seminary; Euroventure camp and the European Baptist Federation; packing food with Rise Against Hunger; the Puerto Rico Partnership with FBC Rio Piedras; Impact Disaster Recovery, and more.

Ongoing Missions and Ways You can Help

Rescue Mission - On the third Thursday of every month, members head to the Rescue Mission to serve dinner.

Pack-a-Snack – Part of the ministry of the local Congregations in Action, food donations are welcome throughout the year (peanut butter, drink boxes/Capri Suns, peanut butter crackers, oatmeal, granola bars, etc) and can be dropped off in the MAC lobby or in the grocery cart across from the parlor. You can also help through packing – bags go home each week with students who are identified as food insecure. These students may or may not have enough food at home to feed them for the weekend. Bags can be packed at any time and put in bins that are delivered to the schools each Thursday morning.

Family Promise – Four times a year Grandin Court hosts families that are working towards finding permanent housing. Families stay together – mother, father, children – and rotate a week at a time between the various partnering churches. Beds are rolled in, dinners are provided, and great conversation with the volunteers and families takes place. Volunteers are needed to provide food, to be on-site in case a need comes up overnight, and to help with set-up and clean-up.
