GCBC Responds

We continue to worship at 10am with Sunday School following at 11am. Click here to learn more about our classes. We also have youth and children’s classes meeting currently.

May 2021 Update:

The recommendations from the CDC and our state leadership are beginning to ease restrictions regarding masks and social distancing for those who have been vaccinated. As your advisory council, we have tried to follow the guidelines given by the CDC to minimize the spread of Covid-19. New cases and hospitalizations continue to drop

The CAC recommends and encourages that, as you make your personal choice, you follow CDC guidelines for vaccinated and non-vaccinated individuals. Please consider those who are still at risk within our congregation.

February 2021 Update:
Beginning February 14, 2021 in-building worship will resume at limited capacity and with precautions in place following current guidelines. Please check your email to RSVP for worship.

Online streaming of worship can be found on our Facebook page and on YouTube at 10am on Sunday mornings.

A letter from your church staff:

While we typically think of church as a place we gather – church is more than that – it is our relationships that make church happen – our relationships with God, and our relationships with each other. These relationships don’t stop during this season of Covid-19 related physical distancing. Over the coming days you will hear from various staff members about different events and the various ministry areas and how they will proceed.

The church will be shut down for the remainder of March, when we will reassess based on the most up-to-date information. The MAC will not reopen for use until further notice.

As you find yourself at home, we encourage you to use your newfound time to call your Sunday School classmates, people in your small group, or people you would normally stop and chat with on Sunday mornings. Take some time and go through the prayer list and make a call or send a card. If you have the ability, utilize resources like the NextDoor app (https://nextdoor.com/) to check on your neighbors. If you need something, please let your staff know, or if you have the ability, let us know if you’d be able to run errands if there is a need. If you’d like an updated directory to reach out to people, you can e-mail Vicki ( secretary@grandincourtbaptist.org ) and let her know.

Worship will be available at 10:00am on Sunday mornings while we are shut down via our Facebook page. You can use this link to get there: https://www.facebook.com/GrandinCourtBaptistChurch/ . If a box comes up asking you to sign in or join, look to the top right for the little X and close that window.

As we worship online, you can also give online by going to this link, http://grandincourtbaptist.org/giving/ or you can mail your check to the church office. Remember that day to day expenses continue at the church whether we meet in person or virtually.

If you would like to utilize the internet and apps for holding virtual group gatherings and need assistance or have questions, reach out to Pastor Melissa K at melissak@grandincourtbaptist.org . There are many free resources available to facilitate group gatherings online, and we’d love to help you get this started if it would be useful to you.

Some resources for devotions during this time:

Illustrated Ministry has resources for all ages available during this time. You can go to this link ( https://www.illustratedministry.com/flattenthecurve?fbclid=IwAR1maya9C8JXPIRp916plpwyhTSROzW-cHWwRYyIp2l605ktSxTOjnSLIe8 ) and sign up for their weekly email. We also have a Lenten devotional resource from IM that we can send to you via email, or drop off to you if you can’t print at home. These devotions are designed to be done as an individual and as a family or small group – and for all ages.

d365 (https://d365.org/) is a daily devotional put out by Passport (the summer camp that many of our kids and youth have attended throughout the years). They are written by a different person each and every week following the lectionary and a theme.

Stay safe, stay healthy, and we will see you all again soon.
