There are countless ways to be an active member of the body of the church, and without each person and their willingness to use their gifts or their willingness to try something new, we wouldn't be able to be Grandin Court Baptist Church, and provide the ministries and spaces that we do. Listed below are just a few of the ways to be involved at GCBC.
Sunday School Teachers - Sunday School teachers can work with any age, can be in a rotation of teachers, or can teach even short term classes. We are always eager to help people share their knowledge and interests and to help others learn to facilitate discussion and learning together.
Deacons - Our Deacons are servant leaders, through and through, modeling what it looks like to serve through your gifts and passions through their ministry teams.
Committees - As most churches do, we also have standing committees that attend to the "business" side of the church - from Finance to Buildings and Grounds, and beyond, these committees help keep things running smoothly.
Church Council - Made up of our committee chairs and our staff, this council oversees the overarching work of the church - helping commitees to listen to the various goals, struggles, and victories of other areas and making sure everything aligns to our overarching mission: being the hands and feet of Christ in our world.
Tech Team - In this, the 21st century, technology moves at lightning speed, and our technology team helps to keep us moving in sync. From livestreaming to sound engineering, running slides or running wire - the tech team is essential to the ministries of the church.
Ushers - Our ushers collect the Tithes & Offerings during worship - leading us in our worship through giving.
Greeters - Friendly faces at the door, ready to say hello or give directions? YES, PLEASE. Our greeters are some of the first faces you see upon entering our building and help set the tone for the day.
Small Jobs - For those who like to work with their hands, have some time to spare, and like to help - this team is for you! There are countless people who have small things around their home that they just can't do alone - from changing a light or smoke alarm battery to fixing a fence - and this team is there to help.
Nursery Volunteers - For families that desire it, we provide a space for our youngest to play, learn, and feel safe. In order to do this, we are always looking for compassionate people who want to help provide this space with us.
MAC Volunteers - One of the ministries we provide to our community is the use of our Ministry Activities Center - what many know of as our "gym." In order to keep this space open and safe, we welcome church members to serve as MAC Ministers/Volunteers to serve in 2 hour shifts, welcoming visitors and teams, and giving guidance when needed.
Communion Prep - From baking bread to washing cups, our communion prep volunteers help to make sure we have everything we need to partake in communion together on the first Sunday of every month.
